Wow! What a special promo this is from Canadian photographer Dan Bannister. It’s just one of a kind. Definitely a promotional piece for a few select clients that you really want to impress. I imagine these sitting on the desk of quite a few agency creative directors. It’s a reminder everyday of the unique vision, exceptional skills and creative mind that Dan has to offer. So, while probably on the more expensive side for a promo, the fact that this one will most certainly stick around makes it worthwhile. So, “hat’s off” to Dan and his friend for the idea.
Dan told me, “I recently shot a series of images inspired in part by Pink Floyd album covers from the 70’s and 80’s. Shortly after finishing the series, a friend of mine, John Halliday who is Associate Creative Director at Venture Communications mentioned over lunch that he had seen the images and had a great idea for a promo and suggested I create a lamp made up of the distinctive bowler hat and Edison style lightbulb.
John made up the labels for the box and the card that was placed inside as well as a sketchbook. I sourced the lamps, hats, boxes and bulbs and assembled everything then delivered it to key clients in my region.”
