About the 2nd Edition
This 2nd edition features many new outstanding examples of portfolios and promotions both online and in print form. Included are additional international examples and a more even balance of photographic and design focused portfolios and promotions. Several examples from illustrators and artists are also included.
The 2nd edition includes a completely revised chapter for “Step 6: Online Portfolios & Blogs”. This chapter focuses on current user experience design strategies, technology and delivery methods for online content. Several strategies are discussed for effectively reaching and meeting the needs of one’s target audience through the multiple components of one’s online presence. Options from custom websites to more “out-of-the-box” solutions are discussed. The chapter also features all new examples of online portfolios and blogs, many of which are accompanied by quotes from the website’s owner.
Much of “Step 7: Promotional Materials” is updated with a greater focus on online marketing and the utilization of blogs and social media to increase your visibility and reach. Printed promotions are also discussed with many new examples featured. “Step 2 Branding” also includes an expanded discussion of brand and brand identity.
